| Each quarter we make an award to our Pub of the Season. To be successful a pub has to be nominated by a member at one of our regular Branch meetings. A short list of three or four is drawn up and over the next couple of months members make the effort to visit as many of the nominated pubs as possible, sometimes as part of one of our socials! Members have to complete a judging form which covers everything from quality of the Real Ale, the most important point, to facilites, clientele, welcome from staff etc. Results are collated and then a pub is selected at a branch meeting. Arrangements are then made to make the presentation as well as as much publicity for the award as possible. Autumn 2008. Selected but under wraps at this time!! Watch this space! Summer 2008. | PUB OF THE YEAR Our flagship award and possibly the most important. To be eligible for this award the pub must have either been a recent POTS winner or be in the current Good Beer Guide. As with the POTS a short list is drawn up and members visit and score the facilities etc. The Beer has to be in excellent condition at all times so it will be the extras that make the difference. 2008 & 2007 The Pheasant Inn, Cumwhitton. 2006 & 2005 The Highland Drove, Great Salkeld. CLUB OF THE YEAR In addition to the above we also present a Club of the Year.
